Mary Whalen will share a brief presentation on the history of kites in Mayan culture, accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation on Guatemalan Kite Celebrations.
Attendees will assemble a kite frame and build their own kite. This tradition is tied to Día de los Muertos, and participants will work on their kites in September and October. We will conclude with a Día de los Muertos celebration, held on November 1st, at Presenzza. The community will be invited to experience the kites and celebrate their dead as well.
